True Redaction & Document Sanitizer

PDF Redaction & Sanitizer Studio

Permanently remove sensitive information, SSN, credit cards, emails, and hidden metadata. Uses rasterize-and-replace to make data recovery impossible. Zero server uploads.

Files remain strictly on your device. Irreversible pixel-level redaction.

Why use it

Permanently blackout sensitive text and PII

True Sanitization

Destroys underlying stream content rather than adding a visual mask.

PII Protection

Safely censor SSNs, Aadhaar, PAN, phone numbers, and confidential notes.

Zero Leak Risk

Rewrites the sanitized PDF locally before saving. Original file is never touched.

Step-by-Step Guide

How to Permanently Redact PDF Content

Follow these 4 simple steps to process your files directly on your device with 100% privacy.

1

Load Document

Import your confidential PDF. The file loads in an air-gapped, zero-third-party-script canvas.

2

Mark Redaction Areas

Draw boxes or click 'Find sensitive data' to auto-detect Aadhaar, PAN, phone numbers, or emails.

3

Permanent Rasterization

Our engine destroys underlying text glyphs and rasterizes redacted zones so data cannot be recovered.

4

Download Sanitized PDF

Save your sanitized PDF without any trace of confidential text or metadata. Original file is untouched.

Supported Formats & Standards

The DocuShrink Redaction Studio adheres to strict digital sanitization guidelines, ensuring irreversible content destruction across all PDF specifications (ISO 32000-1 / ISO 32000-2):

Standard Input PDF 1.0 to PDF 2.0, Linearized Web PDFs, scanned PDFs, encrypted files (after unlocking).
Redaction Engine High-DPI pixel-level burning with full glyph erasure. Supports Black (#000) or White (#FFF) redaction styles.
Sanitized Output Flattened PDF with zero underlying text glyphs and stripped XMP/Info metadata dictionaries.

Why Visual Masking Is Not Redaction

Many popular free tools simulate redaction by simply overlaying a black rectangle annotation on top of the text. Because the original character stream remains embedded in the PDF binary, anyone can select all (Ctrl+A), copy, and paste the hidden text, or remove the annotation layer using basic software.

DocuShrink uses true client-side rasterize-and-replace technology: each page is rendered to high-resolution bitmap memory, redactions are burned directly into the pixels, and the original text stream is replaced with sanitized graphics. Text under the boxes is physically deleted from the file.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about true PDF sanitization, glyph destruction, and legal privacy.

Can someone select or copy text underneath the black redaction boxes?

No. Unlike naive tools that simply draw a visual black box over the text, DocuShrink completely purges the underlying text glyphs and font coordinates from the PDF stream. There is zero text left to highlight, copy, or recover with optical tools.

Are metadata dictionaries like Author and Edit History also cleaned?

Yes. When you download your redacted file, all internal revision histories, thumbnail caches, and document metadata are stripped clean so no breadcrumbs remain.

Is my sensitive legal or medical document uploaded to any server?

Never. All redaction processing is executed 100% locally on your device within the browser sandbox via WebAssembly. Zero bytes are uploaded to remote servers.
